A LITTLE COSTA RICAN COFFEE HISTORY

Coffee arrived in Costa Rica as early as 1779 and within just 50 years had become one of the country’s most important crops.

By the 1840s, Costa Rican coffee was making its way across the Atlantic to London, helping establish the country’s reputation as a serious coffee-producing origin.

Today, coffee is grown across eight regions of Costa Rica, with many of its finest specialty coffees coming from the highlands.

Costa Rica has also become particularly renowned for honey processing, producing coffees with wonderful sweetness, fruit character and complexity.
