From the heart of Carmo de Cachoeira, this coffee comes from the renowned Cocatrel Cooperative, founded in 1961 and now one of Brazil’s leading producers. With over 6,000 smallholder members – more than half farming on plots under 10 hectares – Cocatrel brings together generations of growers to create coffees with full traceability and care.
This lot, selected by Cocatrel Direct Trade, showcases why Brazilian coffee is loved worldwide. Known as Castanhas do Brasil (“Nuts of Brazil”), it is a carefully curated regional blend chosen for its sweet, creamy hazelnut praline profile. Only coffees scoring 83+ make the cut, ensuring a clean and consistent cup every time.
The cherries are dried in static boxes – a modern method that circulates air gently through the coffee, preserving fruity notes and enhancing sweetness, before resting and milling. The result is a Brazilian coffee with more vibrancy than you might expect from a natural.
